Sophie Sainrapt

The female body runs through Sophie Sainrapt’s work. Painting, printmaking and ceramics form a sensitive world in which sensuality finds free expression through gesture and material.

Born in 1960, she devoted herself fully to art in 1995. Her travels in Asia have nurtured a dialogue between Western eroticism and Eastern spirituality. Exhibited in France and internationally, her work also engages with literature, including illustrations of Paul Verlaine.
